Power is gradually attained by dis-assimilating the world. This principle is embodied in every major world religion and presented through different symbolic systems. The concepts of heaven and earth in Christianity, sansara and moksha in Buddhism, maya and nirvana in Vedanta, and dunya and akhirah in Islam are all equivalent tropes (although an exact correspondence cannot be claimed) that signify the principle of the ascendance to power through a gradual transcendence of illusory existence.
We present the “Azadi” Notebook. In the process of making notebooks from waste material found in the home, we discovered another dimension of these notebooks – the ability to make the notebook speak. Using discarded paper, we can tell and retell the story of your life, either present or past, through the notebook. The Azadi notebook is made out of old photocopies of identity documents.
